Tazza Cafe - 250 Westminster Street
Yummy cafe offerings, good vibe, great entertainment. We imagine this may end up everyone's favorite place to go during the Henna Gathering. It's very close.
AS220 - 115 Empire Street
Have dinner while also checking out the all-RI nonprofit art gallery or seeing a show. The artiest place you could possibly eat; full of hipsters but great anyway.
Local 121 - 121 Washington Street
Serving locally grown food in a great atmosphere. Eat at the bar or downstairs in the vintage-inspired restaurant. Not cheap, but very worth it. Support our local farmers!
Dragon 2000 - 127 Matthewson Street
Chinese food right next door to the hotel. Sources say it is cheap and good. We don't have personal experience with the place, but it has enough good reviews that we feel good about telling you about it.
Cilantro Mexican Grill - 123 Weybossett Street
Huge portions of cheap Mexican food. Excellent for sticking to a tight food budget. Not the tastiest Mexican food you'll ever eat, but you certainly won't leave hungry.
Dunkin Donuts - 69 Empire Street
New England's coffee and donut chain. Your best quick breakfast option!
Pizza Queen - 215 Weybossett Street
Your best bet for pizza nearby. We also like the chicken fingers. (Please do not be fooled or distracted by super cheap specials at the other pizza place near this... go only to Pizza Queen. Your stomach will thank you.)
Mama Teresa - 203 Westminster Street
The closest Italian food. The bar next door, The 201, has music spun by alternative/punk/etc DJs.
Farmstead Lunch - 225A Westminster Street
We haven't been here but it's another place for locally grown food.
Aspire - within Hotel Providence
Located within the hotel, the food is delicious and gets rave reviews, but it certainly ain't cheap.
Cuban Revolution - 50 Aborn Street
Delicious, unique, and pricey. A favorite for birthday dinners and other such occasions amongst our friends. Split Tres Leches cake for dessert.
Trinity Brewhouse - 186 Fountain Street
The #1 place for beer drinkers in Providence. Go here to hang out with frat boys and tourists!... Think of it like Cheers in Providence without the TV show to go along with it. Sweet potato fries and beer-battered anything make it worth going despite this.
Blake's Tavern - 122 Washington Street
Good pub food. Average prices. Cops hang out here. Get fish and chips or a burger.

There are two Subways within easy walking distance. This location is a bit better.
Tim Horton's
Doughnuts, pastries, and expensive sandwiches quickly with no atmosphere.
For adventurous people willing to take a bus or drive to the East Side (the cutesiest, most-college-town-like few blocks in the whole city):

Kebab and Curry - 261 Thayer Street
Delicious Indian food, with vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free (and probably more) menu items clearly marked.
Byblos - 235 Meeting Street
Amazingly good Lebanese food and hookah bar. The first hookah bar in Providence, and the best. Other places are just copycats (and more expensive to boot). When the Henna Gathering was on Thayer Street, we would all go here together one night for hookah. It's a bit far from Hotel Providence to arrange a mass expedition. We encourage you to check it out if you can - you'll need reservations.

Tokyo - 388 Wickenden Street
Sakura - 231 Wickenden Street
These two Japanese restaurants are some of our favorites in town - deciding between them is tough. We tend to go to Sakura more, due to their all-inclusive soup/salad/appetizer/entree/dessert (yes, 5 courses!) menu.
